In a dramatic ending the Anarchy City Chaos staged a comeback and held on to
win over the Langley Farm Team by the count of 5 to 3.
Anarchy City came up with the deciding runs in the 9th inning scoring 3 runs
on 3 hits. Jayson Werth got things going when he doubled. Bobby Abreu
followed, but he was set down on strikes. Alex Rios then laced a one-base
hit. Carlos Delgado was up next and he rifled a three-run blast (his 32nd of
the season). The Langley offense proved no trouble in the bottom of the 9th.
Manny Delcarmen(8-2) picked up the victory, allowing no runs in 2 innings.
Mariano Rivera(3-5) took the loss in relief. He was knocked around,
surrendering 3 runs in 2 innings.
Scott Whitley was understandably not very talkative after his team's tough
loss. He quickly showered and changed and when asked about the game had a
terse, yet polite response, 'Hey fellows, that game was a heart-breaker to
lose. Our guys gave it their all and played well - fate just wasn't smilin'
on us this afternoon'
